Week Four Norway Speedway Results

Week Four, June 14, 2008 - Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Challenge Series Round I. The series was welcomed by one of the largest Late Model car counts over the past few years as 37 timed in. Bob Menor would nudge by Mark Schroeder in the closing laps to take home the $1000 Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Round I prize. Jim Stachowicz also drove away from The Super Stock field to win the $500 Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Round I prize.

Late Model Results:

ASA Touring Star Jamie Iverson clocked in with the fastest Pepsi Late Model time of 14.500, and Ron Jenshak clocked in with the fastest Super Stock time of 16.211.

The Main event for the evening was the 50 Lap $1000 to win Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Challenge Series race, as 21 late models lined up for 50 laps of bumpen and grindin. Bob Menor would take the early lead over Dillon Kralovets as 4 caution flags would plague the first 10 laps of the race stunting the drivers from getting into any rhythm, although one of the cautions was for point leader Troy Nelson’s car dieing on the backstretch.
After the fourth restart, Mark Schroeder fired to the outside of Menor make the pass for the lead on lap 11. After a few more cautions were sprinkled in it was still Schroeder leading the way with Menor attempting to chase him down and Scott Degnan a close third just waiting for either of them to make a mistake. With 8 laps remaining Schroeder’s car seamed to fall back to Menor a bit and the cagy veteran snuck underneath Schroeder with 8 laps remaining to take the lead. First threw fifth were nose to tail as Menor lead Schroeder, Scott Degnan, Mike Reichenberger, Jamie Iverson into the last few laps. Bob Menor held meeting the challenge and winning the $1000 Auto Value Bumper to Bumper Round I prize, Mark Schroeder second, Scott Degnan third, Jamie Iverson fourth, Mike Reichenberger fifth, Dillon Kralovetz sixth, Tom Gee jr seventh, Bob Danes eighth, Dalton Zehr ninth, and Kris Oliver tenth.
